B: Old £10 Notes Expire

25 Feb B: Old £10 Notes Expire

March 1st is looming this week and will bring in the demise of the old paper £10 note.

From Thursday 1 March the paper note will no longer be accepted by shops, restaurants or other retailers so please make sure you have no hidden notes tucked down the sofa, in the children’s moneyboxes or stuffed under the mattress.    Some banks, building societies or post offices may accept them for a few days after the deadline.

The new polymer notes are now fully in circulation and feature Jane Austin on them.  The Bank of England are planning to replace the old £20 notes in the next couple of years.
